How does your sizing work?
Our sizing is designed to accommodate a wide range of body types and preferences. We offer detailed size charts for both men and women, and many of our jumpsuits are unisex. Each product page includes specific measurements and fit information to help you choose the right size.
For instance, the Bauhaus Jumpsuit is available in sizes XS to XL, with detailed measurements for chest and waist sizes, as well as suggested height ranges. Additionally, some jumpsuits feature adjustable elements like detachable belts to ensure a comfortable fit.

I have a short torso, can I still wear a jumpsuit?
Absolutely! Many people think that they cannot wear jumpsuits because of their body shape, but that’s because you never tried on a Risen Division suit. We are a small business and not a fast fashion brand, so our garments are designed with realistic body measurements in mind. For example, most of our jumpsuits include snap detailing at the ankle so that you can adjust the leg length, as well as elastic sinching at the waste to accentuate your curves.
So, even with a short torso, you can definitely rock a jumpsuit!

Our jumpsuits are proudly made in New York City, from design to production. Each piece is designed in Red Hook by award winning costume designer, artist and inventor Andrea Lauer. Each jumpsuit is handcrafted in the garment district in Manhattan. We take pride in our local production, ensuring that every jumpsuit meets our high standards of design and craftsmanship.
Where do your materials come from?
Risen Division sources our materials with a strong focus on quality and sustainability. All of our fabric either comes from energy conscious textile mills, or from deadstock, meaning leftover unused fabric from mills and clothing brands that might otherwise be thrown away. Our careful selection of fabrics ensures that each jumpsuit not only looks incredible, but also stands the test of time.

Our design process at Risen Division is rooted in creativity, inspiration, and meticulous attention to detail. Our designer Andrea Lauer’s background in costume design has strongly influenced our approach to designing garments.
Each jumpsuit begins with a concept inspired by iconic figures and artistic movements. For example, the Bauhaus collection is influenced by the architectural principles of form following function, while the Woolf jumpsuit draws from Virginia Woolf’s pioneering feminist texts (Risen Division) (Risen Division).
From these inspirations, we develop designs that merge aesthetic appeal with practical functionality. This involves sketching, selecting materials, and prototyping to ensure each piece not only looks unique but also offers comfort and versatility. We take great care to choose high-quality materials and incorporate thoughtful details that make our jumpsuits stand out.
Our bespoke process allows for personalization, ensuring each jumpsuit reflects the individual style of the wearer while maintaining the high standards of craftsmanship and innovation that define Risen Division (Risen Division) (Risen Division).
Where do your jumpsuit style names come from?
Our jumpsuit style names are inspired by influential polymaths and cultural icons. For example, the Woolf Jumpsuit pays homage to Virginia Woolf, reflecting her innovative and boundary-pushing literary style. Similarly, the Wilde Jumpsuit is inspired by Oscar Wilde, capturing his aesthetic flair and sharp wit. These names are chosen to reflect the essence and spirit of the individuals they are named after, adding a layer of cultural significance and storytelling to each design (Risen Division) (Risen Division).
- The Wilde: Inspired by aesthete, journalist, poet, playwright, and sartorial favorite Oscar Wilde, this jumpsuit takes cues from Victorian era smoking jackets and will undoubtedly encourage witty conversation.
- The Bauhaus: Inspired by the artistic movement that strove to merge all artistic mediums into one unified approach, we took this as an idea to combine all genders into one Risen Division style!
- The Woolf: Victorian inspired jumpsuit with gathered sleeve cap and pointed back collar detail that is driven by Virginia Woolf whose pioneering of feminist texts, writings and essays are essential to our culture.
- The Quimby: This aviator inspired jumpsuit honors the multifaceted and bold Harriet Quimby who was the first woman in America to receive a pilot's license and fly an aircraft across the English Channel. Quimby was also a journalist and screenwriter for silent films. She was often described by her contemporaries as a “tomboy full of verve and spunk who was prepared to try anything,” clearly a fan of the jumpsuit!
- The Lamarr: Named after the glamorous polymath Hedy Lamarr, this jumpsuit is as versatile as the leading lady and historic inventor herself. Lamarr's fame first stemmed from numerous roles as filmic femme fatales, and she spent her off-screen time teaching herself the skills to develop groundbreaking technology. During World War II, she helped invent a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes: a signal transmission called "frequency-hopping spread spectrum" (the principles of which have been incorporated into wireless technology today!).
- The Gibson: This jumpsuit is inspired by the late 19th Century artist Charles Dana Gibson's illustrations of the "New Woman" cycling with their skirt trousers but this time we've taken even further with some extra splash of metallic. Edwardian meets Rock & Roll meets Femme Fatale jumpsuit.
- The Albers: Named after Bauhaus pioneer Anni Albers, this jumpsuit is designed for versatility, utility and longevity. This jumpsuit features a detachable tie belt for adjustable sizing, a slim straight leg and band collar: sleek and simple. With the color and surface inspired by Alber's famous Six Prayers textile 1966-67 and her innovative and defining sound-absorbing, light-reflecting curtain made from cotton and cellophane which earned her an esteemed Bauhaus diploma, this piece is a meditation on innovation.
