Shipping and Cost
How long does it take to make a custom jumpsuit?
The timeline for making a custom jumpsuit can vary based on the complexity of the design and the availability of materials. Typically, you can expect the process to take a few weeks from the initial consultation to the final fitting. This ensures that every piece meets our high standards of quality and craftsmanship, providing you with a unique, tailored garment that embodies both style and sustainability (Risen Division) (Risen Division).

How do we price our jumpsuits?
- Premium Materials: We use high-quality, sustainable fabrics sourced from energy concious suppliers. Materials like Japanese seersucker and cotton sateen are chosen for their durability, comfort, and unique textures (Risen Division) (Risen Division).
- Local Production: Our jumpsuits are proudly made in New York City by skilled artisans. This local production ensures better quality control and supports fair labor practices, which can be more costly than international manufacturing (Risen Division). We believe in nurturing our own community.
- Design Details: Each piece is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, from the initial design to the final stitch. This dedication to perfection ensures that every jumpsuit meets our high standards of design and durability.
- Sustainable Practices: We are committed to sustainability in every aspect of our production, from the materials we use to our manufacturing processes. Sustainable practices often involve higher costs but are essential for reducing our environmental impact and promoting ethical fashion (Risen Division).
- A jumpsuit is a full garment. You’re getting many pieces all in one
These factors contribute to the overall cost, ensuring that you receive a product that is not only stylish and durable but also ethically made and environmentally friendly.
Sizing and Fit
How does your sizing work?
- Our sizing is designed to accommodate a wide range of body types and preferences. We offer detailed size charts for both men and women, and many of our jumpsuits are unisex. Each product page includes specific measurements and fit information to help you choose the right size.
See our size charts here. If you are still unsure which size to choose, or have concerns about fit, please reach out to us!
I have a short torso, can I still wear a jumpsuit?
Absolutely! Many people think that they cannot wear jumpsuits because of their body shape, but that’s because you never tried on a Risen Division suit. We are a small business and not a fast fashion brand, so our garments are designed with realistic body measurements in mind. For example, most of our jumpsuits include snap detailing and elastic sinching so that you can customize the fit to your body.
So, even with a short torso, you can definitely rock a jumpsuit!
At the Risen Division flagship store, we also offer bespoke tailoring services to ensure a perfect fit for every body type. Or consider a custom-made jumpsuit that can be tailored specifically to your measurements. Feel free to reach out to us directly through our contact page.
Sustainability and Ethics
Where are the jumpsuits made? Who makes them?
Our jumpsuits are proudly made in New York City, from design to production. Each piece is designed in Red Hook by Andrea Lauer, and manufactured in the garment district in Manhattan. We take pride in our local production, ensuring that every jumpsuit meets our high standards of design and craftsmanship.
Where do your materials come from?
Risen Division sources our materials with a strong focus on quality and sustainability. All of our fabric either comes from energy conscious textile mills, or from deadstock, meaning leftover unused fabric from mills and clothing brands that might otherwise be thrown away. Our careful selection of fabrics ensures that each jumpsuit not only looks incredible, but also stands the test of time.
About the Brand
Where do your jumpsuit style names come from?
Our jumpsuit style names are inspired by influential polymaths and cultural icons. For example, the Woolf Jumpsuit pays homage to Virginia Woolf, reflecting her innovative and boundary-pushing literary style. Similarly, the Wilde Jumpsuit is inspired by Oscar Wilde, capturing his aesthetic flair and sharp wit. These names are chosen to reflect the essence and spirit of the individuals they are named after, adding a layer of cultural significance and storytelling to each design (Risen Division) (Risen Division).
What does the name Risen Division mean?
Named after the concept of the 2nd power in mathematics, a quadratic equation that multiplies the standard form, and inspired by the idea of "division of labor," jumpsuits have historically defined, segregated, and marginalized parts of society. We aim to transform these divisions by amplifying them, raising them to a higher power, which led to the creation of RISEN DIVISION. We also love that "RD" stands for research and development, symbolizing our commitment to progress and innovation. Our brand is like a personal laboratory, constantly evolving.
Take yourself to the highest power
What is a polymath?
A polymath is an individual whose knowledge spans a significant number of subjects, and who is known to draw on complex bodies of knowledge to solve specific problems. The term originates from the Greek word "polymathēs," meaning "having learned much." In the context of Risen Division, the concept of a polymath resonates deeply. Our inspirations, like Hedy Lamarr, exemplify this by blending artistic talent with scientific ingenuity, creating groundbreaking work that transcends traditional boundaries. This ethos of combining diverse skills and perspectives is central to our design philosophy, as we aim to create clothing that is not only stylish but also versatile and functional for various aspects of life.
Caring for your jumpsuit
How do I wash and care for my jumpsuit?
We recommend always turning your jumpsuit inside out and washing on cold. This will preserve both the color and the material. Then lay flat or hang to dry. The exception is our metallic-coated fabrications. For those we would recommend dry cleaning so that you don’t dull the finish of the fabric.
